String import / export

Move copy in and out of your design as a strings file for hand-off or external translation.

String I/O lets you get all the copy out of a design as a structured file, and push translated copy back in — useful for handing text to a professional translator, running it through your own pipeline, or keeping strings in version control.

Export strings

Select the frames you want, then run Export strings from the plugin menu. Lingolense collects every text layer into a strings file that maps each layer to its current text.

Apply strings

Hand the file to a translator (or translate it yourself), then run Apply strings to write the translated values back onto the matching layers — styling and layout preserved, just like an in-plugin translation.

Plan note

String import/export is available on Pro and above.

When to use this

Reach for string I/O when translation happens outside the plugin — an agency, a localization vendor, or your own review process. For translating directly on the canvas, use Translate or Batch.
